Silverton Train Ride

We have been so blessed this last month to have so many relatives come to visit. James and I learned late August that Park, Sybil, Rosalind, CeCe, and Oliver were all coming for a visit. It was neat to have them come. James has missed his family so much, and has wanted his parents to come for a long time.
James had their days packed with adventure while they were here. The first trip was to go on a steam engine train. Park loves trains and James knew he would love it. The train leaves for Durango, and ends in an old ghost town called Silverton. It takes three hours to get there. James drove a car up there to pick them up (it is faster if you drive), but they were having so much fun, they decided to ride the train back down to Durango.
It was an adventure they all will never forget!

Rock Climbing with Katy and Jeff

Katy and Jeff came down from Utah to spend the weekend with us. We are lucky to have family so close. James, the boys, Katy and Jeff went out early one morning for some four wheeling and rock climbing. They had a blast! Thank goodness Jeff drove, so I didn't worry so much about any accidents. They also had all the rock climbing gear and the boys wanted to show off their newly learned skills. Thanks for coming Katy and Jeff, we loved having you!

Back to School

It's back to school for the Larson kids....I can hardly believe it. The summer flew by, way too fast. I can honestly say that I enjoyed every minute I had with them. Love, love, love these kids.
I didn't get a picture of Elijah this morning (not a proud mother moment), with him leaving earlier, I just forgot.
I know that they will have a great year!!!

Primary Movie Day

The Primary kids have been working hard all this year remembering to bring
their scriptures to church. Each Sunday that they remember their scriptures, they put a skittle in a jar. When the jar is full...it's party time.
They accomplished their goal and so we decided to have a Movie day.
Our Bishop, who is the nicest guy in the world, let us come to his movie theater (for free) and see Toy Story 3. The kids loved it. They ate popcorn, and candy and had their 3D glasses on...it was adorable.Posted by Picasa

Success

The Library in town had a summer reading program that all of the Larson's signed up for.
The kids had to read 15 books, the adults 5 books.
And the ones who completed this goal........Ethan and James.
Ethan was a maniac, he read all of the Lightening Thief books, all of the How to Train your Dragon books, all of the 39 Clue books that are out, along with some other books. We were very impressed with his new found love!
Reading 5 books for James was as easy as picking up the fork for dinner. His goal should have been at least 20, but he did read his 5 plus books.
As for the rest of us......well, we didn't do all that we could, but maybe next summer.

Flying to Santa Fe

Posted by PicasaThis week Ethan and James had a very exciting adventure. James' boss needed him to fly to Santa Fe to do something and he thought it would be fun to take Ethan. They took a private plane, and Ethan was able to sit in the co-pilot's seat the whole way there. He thought it was the coolest thing. When they got to Santa Fe, they were able to stop at Panda Express....I'm still wondering why Santa Fe has one, and we don't?????
