Dandelion

I love this time of the year when all the dandilions come out. As me and my kids walk home from school we try to find all that we can. We make our wishes and we don't tell anyone. I hope my kids remember that part of elementary school when they grow up, I know I will.

Mom gets the nod on Teacher Appreciation Day

Today is Teacher Appreciation Day at the kids school. Olivia was so excited this morning, there is so much to celebrate. The kids bring in a single flower for each of their teachers and breakfast and so forth. The First thing Olivia did this morning was to ask me if it was Teacher Day. I told her that it was. She said that she wanted to get me a flower too. I asked her why she would want to do that, I wasn't her teacher. She told me, "Mom you have taught me so much, you taught me how to talk, how to walk, how to brush my hair." I really can't take the credit, some of that comes naturally, but it was great to be appreciated on Teacher Appreciation Day!

Ethan gets busted

Last week Ethan got in trouble for the first time at school. As a reward for being good in his class, the teacher gives out cheer stickers. At the end of two weeks whoever has the most stickers gets to go on a picnic with the teacher. Well Ethan doesn't care about picnics, so he was giving his stickers to the little girl who sits next to him. Poor Ethan promised me that he didn't realize that it was cheating to be giving his stickers away. The teacher then told me that he was trying to give the little girl a good excuse to tell her parents so that she wouldn't get into too much trouble. Ethan said he wasn't doing that, he was trying to tell the girl to tell her parents that sometimes kids make mistakes and we can repent. Needless to say, Ethan got a whole week of recess taken away, a very upset teacher to deal with, a mom who really didn't think it was that bad, and a dad who wants to go talk to the principal about it. Maybe I am being too easy on him.

I came home from the grocery store today with a special treat for the kids, when I was attacked by a very hungry man who was dying from dieting. All he wanted was a a Klondike bar, or maybe two Klondike bars. There goes the Atkins diet!

This video cracks me up every time I watch it. It was taken over two years ago on a trip to New Mexico to see the family. I love how small the kids are, and how they don't even know the words. But since I am new at blogging and wanted to try to see if I could post a video I thought I would use this clip. I hope it makes you laugh because it makes me!!!

It's Garden Time

James and his brother Nathan started on our garden today. You might say "Why his brother?" What exactly can James do without his brother? The only problem is that they put it on top of the hill. Now normally that wouldn't be a problem but our hill is a big pain. You have to walk up 33 steep stairs to get to the top. I am such a complainer. Hopefully this turns out to be one of our better ideas. I think that it will be a good family project. We shall see...........

Can you say "Peer Presure". Obviously I can! After watching Heather, Jamie, Katie, and Amy blog away, I thought I would give it a try. Let's see how long it last. James is taking Ethan out tonight to have "the talk". Over the past few months Ethan keeps joking with me about how I ate him and how I digested him. I think that he is a little confused and so tonight we, I mean James will fix that.
