Back to School

It's back to school for the Larson kids....I can hardly believe it. The summer flew by, way too fast. I can honestly say that I enjoyed every minute I had with them. Love, love, love these kids.
I didn't get a picture of Elijah this morning (not a proud mother moment), with him leaving earlier, I just forgot.
I know that they will have a great year!!!

Primary Movie Day

The Primary kids have been working hard all this year remembering to bring
their scriptures to church. Each Sunday that they remember their scriptures, they put a skittle in a jar. When the jar is full...it's party time.
They accomplished their goal and so we decided to have a Movie day.
Our Bishop, who is the nicest guy in the world, let us come to his movie theater (for free) and see Toy Story 3. The kids loved it. They ate popcorn, and candy and had their 3D glasses on...it was adorable.Posted by Picasa

Success

The Library in town had a summer reading program that all of the Larson's signed up for.
The kids had to read 15 books, the adults 5 books.
And the ones who completed this goal........Ethan and James.
Ethan was a maniac, he read all of the Lightening Thief books, all of the How to Train your Dragon books, all of the 39 Clue books that are out, along with some other books. We were very impressed with his new found love!
Reading 5 books for James was as easy as picking up the fork for dinner. His goal should have been at least 20, but he did read his 5 plus books.
As for the rest of us......well, we didn't do all that we could, but maybe next summer.

Flying to Santa Fe

Posted by PicasaThis week Ethan and James had a very exciting adventure. James' boss needed him to fly to Santa Fe to do something and he thought it would be fun to take Ethan. They took a private plane, and Ethan was able to sit in the co-pilot's seat the whole way there. He thought it was the coolest thing. When they got to Santa Fe, they were able to stop at Panda Express....I'm still wondering why Santa Fe has one, and we don't?????

My Kids are Growing Up!

I can't believe how big they are getting. Today as we got ready to go to church I looked at my three kids and was shocked at how old they are getting. I had to take a picture. And it is proof enough how old they are getting, look at the boys' faces....they are truly almost teenagers, hating to have their picture taken. I can at least try....and thank goodness Olivia is always ready to strike a pose!!!

Happy Birthday James/Scottsdale

As usual, we Larson's made our annual summer fun trip to Scottsdale Arizona. People often ask us why we like to go their in the summer time. Here are our top five reasons:
1. The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess....the best resort we have ever stayed at, where when you drive up, they always say....."Welcome Home"....and to us it is.
2. Shopping. Even having lived in San Diego (where there is awesome shopping) Scottsdale has some great shopping in just a five mile radius of the resort. We have our routine mapped out and know where we want to go. Love, Love, Love to shop there.
3. Food. This has moved up on our list every since we relocated. The fast food place we had loved in California, are not in New Mexico, but thank goodness they are in Arizona. The kids have specific places they want to go and we make sure to hit them.
4. Swimming. Okay that might seem silly, but this has been the first time that my kids have swam all summer. Not a lot of people have pools her in NM, and the public pools are crowded. In Scottsdale, the kids are in the pool at 8 A.M. and then out usually around 11 P.M. They love playing with their Dad in the pool. (p.s. no one gets burnt, we take them out at about 10, and then back in at about 3)
5. Friends. Scottsdale is not too far from San Diego and thank goodness for good friends. Jamie came out to see us while we were there. Thank goodness that Jake and Shauna live close by so she was able to see them and make a day trip to see us. It made my summer to see her! Thanks Jamie, your the best.
One final note.....my camera died there...I was so bummed.
We were able to spend James' birthday there, and I don't think he could have had a better b-day. He read several books by the pool, and as many of you know he loves to shop and he did!!! Love you James Happy Birthday.

Rock Climbing

The boys had a summer camp class at the college...Rock Climbing. Ethan was a natural and learned that he has a new talent. From the first day he was like a monkey on the rocks, climbing easily and having a blast. Elijah, on the other hand, has the same fear of heights that his Dad does, but by the end of the week he had conquered his fears and mastered the rock. Great job boys!
