Cabo San Lucas

Way back in December, James signed up to be in a Chevy contest to go to Cabo......and when he puts his mind to something, he always gets what he wants. We went to Cabo on June 12, just James and me. We had a great time.

Everyday, Chevy lavished us with gifts. The first day we got there, we got big huge swim towels, and a bag of goodies that included suntan lotion, lip balms, etc. The next day James was able to spin a wheel to win prizes, he won some money, always a plus. The next day Chevy let everyone choose a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses. I thought that was pretty neat! And on the last day, we were given some Mexican blankets, a bottle of Tequila, and some shot glasses. It was a nice gift, but definitely not one we were too thrilled with!

While we were down in Cabo, Chevy treated us to a couples massage. It was James very first massage and he was freaking out. He was so nervous about it! Within ten minutes he was fast asleep and snoring. I was doing my best not to laugh, but secretly I knew he would love it.

For the majority of the time we lounged by the pool, or the beach, read lots and lots of books, drank way too many pinadas, ate way too much, and overall really enjoyed our time together. We did venture into a small town called Cabo San Jose. James was able to find the gifts he wanted for the kids and bargain the prices down. We had a safe, great time. When we finally arrived home I asked James what his favorite thing about the trip was, other than the time we spent together, it was hands down the massage!

Colorado and the Cabin

We went up to Colorado to my parents' cabin. The kids always have the best time when we are there. James was able to go with us, which he usually doesn't have the time off to do. So this time we did the things that James says he has been waiting seven years to do.

We stopped at the Continental Divide and Olivia got out of the car, in the crazy wind, to take a picture. It is here at the Continental divide that the Western Hemisphere is divided from Alaska all the way down to South America. There was still quite a bit of snow left. Ethan was brave enough to get out of the car for a picture.

It is so pretty up in the mountains right now. James and I were talking on the way up how we love to come up to the cabin during each season. Right now, it is so green and beautiful. James wanted to stop at the scenic overlook to take a picture with Elijah.

At the bottom of the mountain there is a beautiful waterfall and every time we drive past it James always says he wants to hike up to it. The kids are always anxious to get to the cabin they always say no, but not today. We stopped at the waterfall and began to hike. It was very windy, but we did it, we got as high as you could go. When we were almost to the very top, Ethan had a small accident. He slipped and completely scrapped up his leg. It was pretty bad, bad enough that we were debating whether or not to take him to the doctor. We quickly took some pictures and hiked back to the car. James cleaned him up and decided he was going to be okay.

I love hanging out with these kids. Today was one of those days I hope I always remember. Doing things together, laughing, talking and singing in the car. I am grateful to be the mother of the three best kids in the world!!!

Tennis Camp

School had barely been let out when James began a very busy summer for our kids. The first on the list....Tennis Camp. I'm not sure how it happened, but Ethan escaped this camp, but Elijah and Olivia had a full week. One of the High Schools in town puts on a camp and they do a great job! Both Olivia and Elijah loved it. Olivia loved it so much, that now she is taking private tennis lessons.....maybe she should get some tips from her cousins Ian and Sterling.

Last Day of School

It's crazy how fast time flies. I can't believe that it is already the end of the school year, and more devastating, it is the end of Ethan's Elementary School Career. Where does the time go?

The kids were none the less thrilled to be done. Elijah had had an accident a few days before on the trampoline. He sprained his ankle pretty bad and started his summer vacation two days early, hence the crutches.

We are looking forward to a busy, and fast paced summer!

A San Diego Weekend

A couple of weeks ago, I got an invitation for a good friend's birthday party in San Diego. James knew that I was missing my friends and immediately told me that I should go. I have the best husband. He bought me a ticket and I was off.

I got into San Diego late afternoon on Friday, spent some time with Park and Sybil, and then I met some girlfriends for dinner. We went to one of my favorite restaurants ever...Domenics. We had a great time laughing and talking...probably too much, because the waiters started to clear our table (a subtle hint that it was time to leave). I then went over to Cara's house to help support her in her party preparing endeavours.

Saturday was a busy day also. I started the day with Julie walking the lake. I miss this tradition. We had a great time catching up. I spent most of the morning with Sybil. She is always so kind to me, and it was wonderful to sit and talk with her. The rest of the day was spent running to the mall, meeting friends, getting bundt cake, going to see Jamie's house, and going to Heather's party. I loved every minute of it.

I was able to go to church, our "old" ward on Sunday. It was strange to go there, because I didn't know 80% of the people. It made me realize that I have my own "new" ward, "new" home, and a "new" life.

The weekend went way too fast, so fast that I was only able to take two pictures. One of me with my bundt cake (to make my kids jealous), and a picture of the ice cream bar that Cara did. She is amazing, anything she does is perfect!

Piano Recital

The kids have renewed their piano lesson this winter. Under the direction of Sister Moeller, they have all done extremely well. They all performed great at their recital.

Scouts

Elijah has been busy this Spring. He and the Scouts of our ward have been making their own long bows. Their Scoutmaster is an expert sportsman and helped these boys make their bows. They did all the work themselves!

At their court of honor they each received their finished bows. Elijah also received 10 Merit Badges...he is on his way to Eagle. We are very proud of him.
