It's back to College for me....Well kind of

Michelle and I are taking a cake class at the college. I think the only reason why Michelle asked me to do it with her, was because she wanted to make sure there was someone in the class that stunk (which is me)! I am pretty sure that I have failed the three classes so far, but here is our "Mid Term" cake. I definitely think practice makes perfect!

Miscellaneous San Diego

We made sure to hit all the important places that we miss, since moving to New Mexico.

We hit:

In-n-Out (twice)
Pat and Oscars
Jamba Juice
Carl's Junior
Panda Express
Barnes and Nobel
Steinmart
Burlington Coat Factory
and
The Mormon Battalion Center

We would have gone so many more places, but under the time restrictions we were limited.

While we were in Pat and Oscars, Olivia ran into a friend from school that she wanted us to make arrangements to see. We had explained that we were very limited on time and that we would have to call her the next time we went to San Diego. It was such a pleasant surprise to run into Nina. Olivia was able to eat lunch with her and catch up.
We went to the Mormon Battalion Center with the whole Larson Family and Uncle Kevin. In the year that we have been gone, it has been completely changed....it's like Disneyland, and well worth a trip! The kids were even able to pan for Gold. James and Sybil were able to look up a relative that had signed up for the march. It was all very nice and highly recommended.

Good Times..Good Friends

Just before we left for San Diego, I contacted a few good friends to see if they could meet up with us for dinner, while we were there. I was thrilled to hear back from all of them, that they could all make it. Thank you Julie and Greg for hosting.

We had the best food....homemade pizza from Rachel, pasta primavera from Laura, Bread stick from Julie, brushetta from Heather, avocado/Mexican dip from Cara, James favorite Root Beer from Julie, Delicious drinks from Jamie, James favorite Laura Barry salad, and Annie Isaac's famous cake!
Better than the food was just catching up with good friends. As James and I left he said that it felt like we had never even left.

Thank you all for making us feel so special and loved, we love you too!!!

A Beautiful Wedding

We headed this last weekend out to San Diego to our nephew, Stephen's wedding. It was a beautiful wedding! Brittany is a lucky girl to get such a wonderful guy, and Stephen is lucky to get a wonderful girl.
It was great to see all the family too! Most of James' brothers and sisters were there. We had a fabulous time catching up with everyone!

Where We Have Been....

Question: Where was the Larson family this weekend?

Answer: Socorro, New Mexico

Question: Where is Socorro New Mexico?

Answer: We aren't sure where it is either. It is a small, (I mean small) town south of Albuquerque. Population 6000 (with no bookstore)!

Question: Why were you in Socorro?

Answer: Elijah qualified for the State Science Fair and that was where it was located.

Question: Why there?

Answer: From what I gathered, NMT (New Mexico Tech, aka School of Mining) is the MIT of New Mexico. It is a school of Science.

Question: How did Elijah do?

Answer: Elijah was just grateful to go along for the ride. His goal was to make it into the State Science Fair, and he did (Great job, we are proud of you).

Question: What were the other science fair projects like?

Answer: UNBELIEVABLE. Some of the overall winners of the Junior Exhibitors (Middle School), were titled "The Cancer Genome Anatomy Project", or "Finding the Rotation Speed of Jupiter", or "The Electrical Conductivity of Bones"....HUH? Most of the winners came from schools in Los Alamos which is a big Science Area of New Mexico.

Question: Will Elijah do it again?

Answer: I sure hope so. It was a good experience for him, and it was a wonderful chance to spend some one on one time with my kids!

One the way home, we stopped in Albuquerque for some real fun, we haven't seen in a while.

1st Stop: B&N (Barnes and Noble)

As my kids entered the store there was an actually sigh of heaven from their mouths!

2ND Stop: Panda Express

No talking, No fighting, Nothing But Peace for 20 minutes

3Rd Stop: See's Candy

Just pure glory!

O, the things we miss!

Easter Claus/Santa Bunny

I'm not sure who came to visit the kids
on Easter. The kids got bikes
which is more a Christmas thing, instead
of an Easter Thing.
They loved them just the same!
