My Little Brother

Just a quick shout out to my little brother......Happy Birthday Pat! Thanks for being such a good brother. I think that you are a great Dad, who loves his children, and a great husband to your wife. I hope that you have a wonderful birthday. We love you!

Our Cub Scouts

Elijah and Ethan helped with the Boy Scouts Convention this last week. Elijah was able to miss two days of school in order for him to help. He presented awards and flowers to couples who had participated in the Boy Scout program. He helped present one of the highest awards, the "Silver Antelope". One of the people he presented it to is in the General Young Men's Presidency of the church. He was really excited to help give the awards out to so many "Mormon" people. After he gave them the award he would escort the wife down the stairs and at the bottom would shake hands with the recipient. He was so professional, the only Cub Scout involved! There were more than 1700 people there. I think they both really enjoyed it, they especially enjoyed missing school.

Nose Bidet

I finally took Ethan in to see an Allergist. His allergies have been really bad this year. The big, fun, exciting news in our family is that Ethan now is using a nose bidet!!! He was so excited to come home and show Elijah how he can squirt water up one nostril and have it come out the other side! I know, pretty scary, but he thinks it's pretty cool. That night Ethan was first to try. That boy, with all that he has gone through was a pro from the start. He did it like he had done it a hundred times. Elijah and Olivia were so impressed they gave it a shot too. Elijah could barely do it without choking, and Olivia got a few drops in. Dad gave it a go also. The kids were screaming when Niagara Falls was pouring out Dad's nose. They loved it, and James said that he could breathe a lot better.

The Dr. was very helpful. She helped me realize what a bad mom I am. After she looked in Ethan's nose and told us that he is completely stuffed up, he told her that he is never able to breathe out his nose. Sad that I never knew that, and he is my son! Hopefully his new trick with the water will help him breathe through his nose, like he should.

Palm Springs Here We Come

As soon as I stepped off the plane from Rochester, James wisked us all away to Palm Springs for three days. We spent the majority of the time in the pool, playing on the water slide and drinking Shirley Temples and Roy Rogers. The kids loved the time they were able to spend with their Dad, and the time that they missed school. We were able to go to the movies on Friday at noon and see the new Narnia movie, Prince Caspian on the day it came out. The kids thought that was pretty cool.

While we were at the hotel, I had to give Ethan some medicine for his allergies. I filled up a glass from the room and gave him a pill to take. He looked at me and said "There is no way I am drinking out of that glass, have you ever seen how they clean them?" Several months ago I was watching some 20/20 show about how the housekeepers just kind of wipe them up, and never take them out of the rooms to clean them. I didn't realize that Ethan was there when I was watching it. Just another reminder to me to be careful what my kids see on tv!

My Big Trip to Rochester

I was so lucky to be able to go with my friend Meri to Rochester New York this last week. Meri and Paco are moving there and, Meri wanted to go house hunting. It was so much fun to try to find the perfect house for the Lopez Family. It is amazing what you can buy in Rochester. We also did some school shopping. I was amazed at the school system there. It made me think twice about the education that my children are getting. It was a lot of fun to go with Meri, and my family will miss them. We look forward to visiting them and staying in their massive house when we go to the Hill Cummorah Pageant, and Niagara Falls.!!!! Thanks Meri.

Could We be Twins?

I was looking through pictures the other day and it suddenly dawned on me, my heaven's, I think Elijah belongs to me! It's the craziest thing, but I think if you grew Elijah's hair out a little we could be twins. I don't think that he likes it, he would rather look like his Dad!

Elijah Plays Tough

Elijah had a great football game this weekend. He nearly caught a pass for a touchdown. He was so close. Elijah is probably the thinnest player on his team, but he makes up for that in determination. They tied the game. Lij and his good friend Conner are on the same team. Elijah did awesome. Go Lij!
