Where to begin?

First off, I didn't get good phone reception in Colorado, nor computer service so for anyone who tried to contact us and didn't, I apologize!

Our Trip to New Mexico/Colorado was great. We spent the majority of it at my parents cabin in Colorado. James was able to join us up there and of course that is when all the fun began!

We had a great time horseback riding in the Colorado Mountains at Freeman's Ranch. I think that this was the kids favorite part. James insisted that the kids swim in the river, and I am pretty sure that they spent about 90% of their time in the Rio Grande!

We also went to Mesa Verde. James has been dreaming of taking our kids their since the day Elijah was born. It was quite the adventure too. If you haven't been, there are lots of hills, and ladders to climb, and it can be quite scary at times. We were in for a special treat while we visited Balcony House. There was thunder, lightening, and hail while we climbed the 36 foot high ladder. The poor kids were pretty scared, but it really is an amazing place.

The most important thing that happened is that my dad was officially semi-diagnosed. All of his test results were sent to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester New York. The doctors went through them and there is only one case that they have ever seen that is similar to his. They decided to label it as NK Hepatosplenic Lymphoma, although they are not positive he has it, my dad does not have many of the markers. He has started Chemotherapy, which will take four to six months, and after that he will have a bone marrow/stem cell transplant. So please keep him in your prayers!!!

A Change of Hairstyles

In solidarity to Aunt Julia and my Dad going through Chemotherapy, Elijah decided to buzz off all his hair. Aunt Julia, took the honor of doing it, but we all couldn't resist a little fun! Elijah wanted to experiment with a mohawk. I can't wait for all the phone calls from my family. Along with the mohawk, James decided to try a new style himself. I hope you all enjoy!
By the way, Julia has the most amazing attitude with all that she is going through. She is teaching me so much!

Day Two

We started the day in the most perfect way! We went to the nail salon. My Mom, Tammy, Michelle, Katie, Olivia, and me went and got our nails done. Who doesn't like a good pedi? We hung out around Michelle's most of the day. My sister-in-law Melissa (ironic huh, Melissa Blair) came over with her three kids, Hannah, Ryan, and Izzy. My brother Patrick surprised us all by showing up, he has been out of town for two weeks.

We had a family BBQ at Shane and Michelle's house. It was great! My Grandma and Aunt Diane came, both I haven't seen in quite some time. I re-introduced my kids to my Aunt who they didn't remember, but told them that I was named after her. We had fun eating the best food. Michelle made hamburgers, hot dogs, Frog Eye Salad, Beans, and Orange Brownies.....yum!

A Travel Log

While James is busy working in San Diego, we are on the move! Today was my first full day with my family and what a day it has been! The boys have enjoyed playing Wow, Wii, and everything else with their cousins. Here is a picture of Elijah playing Wii with his Aunt Shellie.

We went and saw my nephew Cory play in a scrimage soccer game, he did great and seems to be quite the team leader. I went with my sister Tammy and her two daughters Katie and Morgan and my Sister-in-law Michelle. I took a picture of the soccer field only because of the beautiful view it had. I love this view it reminds me so much of my childhood. The bluffs are in the distance and I remember going out there on the 4th of July to light fireworks!

I brought a present to my Dad from James and it made my Dad cry. James had arranged for Sugar Ray Leonard to sign a pair of boxing gloves for my Dad. Pretty Cool! My Dad thought it was pretty neat.....Good job James.....I think you got some points.

Balboa Park

It has been a Balboa Park week for the Larson Family. We went to the park on Tuesday and we visited the Natural History Museum, the Model Railroad Museum, and the Timken Art Museum. The kids loved it. Ethan especially loved the Natural History Museum with it's big dinosaurs. It was a lot of fun!

We went back to Balboa Park today to ride our bikes around the park, (well kind of, my bike conveniently broke when we loaded it on the car, so I roller bladed). It really is a beautiful park and I think the kids enjoyed it, even though Ethan ran in to a big delivery truck! We really need to work on his biking skills!

What's This?

The Other day when my Sister-in-Law Michelle was here, Olivia and I went on a car ride with her in her rental car. Olivia got in and started to check out the car. She asked me in a very puzzled voice what's this and what does it do? It was the handle to roll down the window. She was amazed that cars had these, she had never seen one before. I thought it was pretty funny!
